Responsibilities
Tasks
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the restaurant's daily operations.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Prepare and manage the restaurant's budget, including revenue, expenses, and profit margins.
- Monitor financial performance and make adjustments as needed to meet financial goals.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise restaurant staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and support personnel.
- Create and maintain staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members.
- Address employee issues and resolve conflicts.
- Ensure high-quality customer service and satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns, striving to resolve them in a timely and effective manner.
- Train staff in customer service best practices.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to develop and update menus.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to maintain high culinary standards.
- Manage inventory and food costs to optimize profitability.
- Enforce health and safety regulations and maintain a safe dining environment.
- Ensure staff is trained in food safety procedures and compliance.
- Address any health or safety issues promptly.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Organize special events, promotions, and marketing campaigns.
- Maintain an active online presence and manage restaurant's social media accounts.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors.
- Manage relationships with food and beverage suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and quality products.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Minimize waste and control costs through efficient inventory management.
- Prepare regular financial reports for the restaurant's owners or stakeholders.
- Analyze financial data and make recommendations for improving profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including labor laws, health codes, and licensing requirements.
- Develop and execute long-term business strategies to ensure the restaurant's growth and sustainability.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with regular customers and seek feedback for continuous improvement.
- Participate in community events and initiatives to enhance the restaurant's reputation and community involvement.
- Provide leadership and direction to the restaurant team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
