Responsibilities: Tasks

Tasks

  • Collaborate with chefs to develop and finalize menus.
  • Organize staff schedules and shifts efficiently.
  • Ensure strict adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Champion food safety practices and compliance.
  • Recruit and provide training to new team members.
  • Contribute to menu planning when required.
  • Procure essential event supplies and inventory.
  • Manage inventory and order necessary provisions.
  • Oversee and supervise catering staff.
  • Strategically plan, coordinate, oversee, and evaluate daily operations.
  • Determine service offerings and implement operational protocols.
  • Monitor revenue streams and adjust procedures and pricing as necessary.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations rigorously.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in both the kitchen and restaurant, following Alberta Health Services and Food Safety guidelines.
  • Negotiate agreements with suppliers for food and supplies procurement.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients for catering contracts and bookings.
  • Develop, implement, and analyze budgets.
  • Participate in the creation and execution of marketing plans.
  • Establish staff work schedules and assess staff performance.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns effectively.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise the catering team.
  • Delegate necessary authority and cultivate an optimal working environment.
  • Manage employee hiring and training.
  • Coordinate daily employee schedules in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence to ProServe, AGLC, and all health and safety regulations/laws specific to Alberta.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to guarantee rigorous adherence to health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Law and all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Partner with the General Manager to maintain the highest standards, including fostering a workplace free from abuse and ensuring the availability and adherence of the employee handbook procedures and policies.
  • Assure the adherence to standard operating procedures across all levels of the operation.
